SkinnyFit Drops its Operation Costs with the Right 3PL Fulfillment Solutions

SkinnyFit was founded with the belief that healthy is gorgeous and created a wide range of health-enhancing products, including collagen peptides, superfoods, gummies, and detox teas. Many companies “say” they prioritize quality customer service, yet SkinnyFit truly embraces the importance of a positive customer service experience. So much so, their customer service team consists of only NASM-certified nutrition coaches.

This focus on customers is what originally led SkinnyFit to QuickBox’s Denver location. The team wanted to improve their logistics and operational efficiency to delight their customers with reduced delivery times and more effective inventory management to support their growth.

Of course, it’s also important to watch both the top and bottom lines. The SkinnyFit team was also motivated by potential cost savings in postage, which could then be passed on to their customers. With scale, they looked to QuickBox for a dual node solution in Denver and became the first client to be warehoused in QuickBox’s Atlanta expansion.

The dual node solution was successful, but the postage team at QuickBox created a new solution to create a synthetic tri-node by moving all inventory into Denver and sending nightly line hauls to Chicago and Las Vegas. By consolidating inventory into one centralized warehouse, QuickBox helped them take advantage of better zone pricing due to dual-line haul shipping capabilities. This means orders can be shipped from a location closer to the customer, reducing shipping costs and delivery times.

Benefits of the SkinnyFit and QuickBox partnership included:

  • Reduced Shipping Costs: Centralizing inventory allows for better zone pricing, which means lower postage costs as packages travel shorter distances.
  • Improved Delivery Times: Proximity to customers means faster shipping, leading to more delighted customers.
  • Efficient Inventory Management: A single, centralized warehouse simplifies inventory tracking and management, reducing overhead costs and the risk of stockouts or overstocking.
  • Scalability: The fulfillment center offers more space and advanced logistics capabilities to support growth and handle increased order volumes efficiently.

Down-the-Hall Relationship Perks

One of the most appreciated differences between QuickBox and other 3PLs is the dedicated account management through the QuickBox Client Services team. QuickBox aims to foster a down-the-hall relationship, acting as a genuine extension of brands like SkinnyFit by providing onsite Client Services Managers (CSM) at each warehouse inventory is stored. Additionally, access to the QuickBox executive team allowed for direct collaboration from leaders of both teams to create an even deeper partnership.

“The whole QuickBox team has been a breath of fresh air for us. It feels like a family more than a business relationship,” says Narineh Sardariani, the Supply Chain Manager at SkinnyFit. “I’ve worked with a lot of 3PLs in the past, and this has been the most blended relationship. When we succeed, so does QuickBox, and when QuickBox succeeds, so do we.” Plus, QuickBox is better able to respond to changes and offers greater flexibility, especially if there’s an urgent issue.

Looking Forward with Enthusiasm

Both the QuickBox and SkinnyFit teams are excited about the remainder of this year and looking ahead to 2025. Sardariani explains, “I’m particularly enthusiastic about how the overall service quality will contribute to higher customer satisfaction and loyalty.”

For example, the implementation of cutting-edge logistics technologies will streamline operations, improve accuracy, and enhance tracking capabilities, ensuring a superior customer experience.

QuickBox’s capacity to scale with SkinnyFit’s growth allows the team to expand product offerings and reach new markets without concerns about compromised efficiency or service quality.

Continued optimization of inventory management and zone pricing again leads to further cost savings in postage and overall logistics, boosting SkinnyFit’s bottom line.

The down-the-hall, strong relationship between the partners enables SkinnyFit to offer more personalized and flexible service to customers, addressing their needs promptly and effectively.

“These aspects position us well for continued success and innovation, ensuring we meet and exceed our operational goals and customer expectations,” adds Sardariani.
